Worship with Tulsi. Equal to bathing in all holy rivers.
Kamika Ekadashi takes its name from "Kamana", meaning sincere desire, for this vrat is believed to fulfil the heartfelt wishes of a devotee. It falls in the holy monsoon month and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form as Damodara. The scriptures praise it highly, saying that worshipping Vishnu with tulsi leaves on this day pleases him more than gifts of gold or jewels.
Keeping the Kamika Ekadashi vrat with faith is said to free a devotee from sins, bring peace of mind, and grant the merit of great pilgrimages and charities. Devotees fast, light a ghee lamp before Lord Vishnu, recite his names, and keep a night vigil where they can. It is a gentle, hopeful day to set right past mistakes and pray for the wellbeing of the family.
