What is Kundali?

A Kundali (Janma Kundali) is a Vedic birth chart showing the positions of 9 planets across 12 houses at the exact moment of birth. ShubhPanchang.in calculates planetary positions using the Drik Ganita method with Lahiri Ayanamsa — the same standard used for our daily Panchang.

The zodiac sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth. Changes every ~2 hours.
Moon Sign (Rashi)
The zodiac sign where Moon was at birth. Used for daily Panchang.
Nakshatra
One of 27 lunar mansions. Determines Vimshottari Dasha starting planet.
Vimshottari Dasha
120-year planetary cycle. Shows which planet's period is currently active.

Frequently Asked Questions

What information do I need for Kundali calculation? +

You need three things: date of birth (day, month, year), time of birth (as accurate as possible — even 5 minutes matters for Lagna), and place of birth (city or nearest town).

What is the difference between Lagna and Moon Sign? +

Lagna (Ascendant) is the zodiac sign rising on the eastern horizon at your birth time — it changes every ~2 hours. Moon Sign (Rashi) is the zodiac where Moon was located — it changes every ~2.5 days. Both are important in Vedic astrology.

What is Vimshottari Dasha? +

Vimshottari Dasha is a 120-year planetary cycle in Vedic astrology. Based on your birth Nakshatra, a specific planet's Mahadasha (major period) is active at birth. Each Mahadasha lasts 6 to 20 years.

How accurate is ShubhPanchang Kundali? +

Planetary positions are calculated using Drik Ganita with Lahiri Ayanamsa — the same method used for our daily Panchang. Verified accurate to within a few arc-minutes. Lagna accuracy depends on exact birth time.

Does ShubhPanchang provide astrological predictions? +

No. ShubhPanchang.in displays astronomical data only — planetary positions, Lagna, Moon Sign, and Dasha periods. We do not provide astrological predictions, interpretations, or personal advice.
