Dev Diwali, on Kartik Purnima, is when the gods celebrate Diwali. According to legend, Lord Vishnu wakes from his four-month sleep (Chaturmas) on this day. Devotees light lamps along rivers and in temples. It is also Tripurotsav, celebrating Lord Shiva's victory over the demon Tripurasura.
