Rahu Kaal is an inauspicious period of approximately 90 minutes each day, associated with the shadow planet Rahu. It is calculated by dividing the time between sunrise and sunset into 8 equal parts — one part is designated as Rahu Kaal based on the weekday. The assignment follows: Sunday=8th, Monday=2nd, Tuesday=7th, Wednesday=5th, Thursday=6th, Friday=4th, Saturday=3rd. Avoid beginning new ventures, travel, or signing contracts during Rahu Kaal. Ekadashi — called "Agiyaras" in Gujarati — falls on the 11th day of each lunar fortnight, occurring twice every month. It is observed as a fasting day dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Devout Hindus abstain from rice, wheat, and most grains, eating only fruits, dairy, and certain vegetables. There are 24 Ekadashis in a year, each with a unique name. Nirjala Ekadashi (Bhim Agiyaras) in June is the most important — a waterless fast said to equal all 24 combined.

A Tithi is a lunar day determined by the angular distance between the Sun and Moon — not by the clock. Each Tithi covers exactly 12 degrees and lasts approximately 19 to 26 hours, meaning it can begin and end on different calendar dates. This is why two consecutive dates sometimes share the same Tithi or a Tithi appears skipped.
